How to create coziness and harmony at home

Coziness isn't about an expensive renovation, but about the feeling. A home you want to come back to is built from light, colour, textures and thoughtful details. We share tips from designers that work in any interior.
01Thoughtful zoning
Even within a single room, it is worth dividing the space into zones: a place for eating, relaxing and working. A rug, varied lighting, or a sofa or shelving unit as a soft boundary all help. When each activity has its own place, the space feels organized and calm.

02Color harmony
Choose a calm base (beige, sand, graphite) and add 1–2 warm accents: terracotta, olive, ochre. The rule is simple: the larger the piece, the calmer its color should be. Save the brightness for details such as cushions, vases and textiles.
Coziness comes not from the number of things, but from how well they agree with each other.
03Natural materials and textures
Wood, ceramic, linen, wool, rattan: natural materials make an interior feel alive and warm. Combine smooth with rough, matte with glossy. Contrasting textures add depth even to a monochrome room.
- Layered lighting instead of a single ceiling chandelier
- Textiles: rugs, throws and curtains soften the space
- Live plants and natural décor
- Personal touches: what makes a home yours
